Standing Committee on Public Health (SCOPH)

The Standing Committee on Public Health (SCOPH) focuses on certain public health problems in our society. It is the ideal opportunity to show your social commitment and to come into contact with different levels of society. We organize projects such as "Teddy Bear Hospital", where children can overcome their white-coat fear. With "Heart for Life" we make passers-by aware of cardiovascular diseases. In addition, we also have "Start to talk" and Let's smile again, which focus on healthy mental health among students. Further, through "Everyone Healthy" we try to raise children's awareness of healthy food, exercise and (dental) hygiene. Finally, with 'More than cancer, our goal is to spread information to the general public. Every year a different cardiovascular subject is featured on the poster. With accurate medical information explained in an easy manner we aim to spread awareness about this particular cardiovascular disease. You will get to see these posters in and around Gent, especially in the city centre and the region around the university hospital.

To prevent future dismay, start living healthy today!
