Teddy Bear Hospital

Teddy Bear Hospital, a weekly project where children from the 3rd kindergarten and the 1st grade of primary school visit UZ Ghent to get acquainted with the medical world. Our goal is to eliminate their fear of doctors or a hospital environment.

Our goal is to take the fear of doctors or a hospital environment away. The children take their teddy bear with them, but it seems to be injured. 1st bachelor students medecine take care of the teddy bears, along with the help of the children. Eventually, even a visit to the ambulance of the Red Cross is possible!

The schools come in the fore - or afternoon, thus the voluntary students can register per half day. The date of Teddy Bear Hospital 2020 wil come online at the end of september.

Everyone can apply as volunteer, there is no in-depth medical knowledge necessary. For students, this is de ideal occasion to improve their interaction with children in a medical setting; but especially the enthusiasm, eagerness to learn and creativity from the children gives a very good feeling afterwards.
